Ecstasy

About

"Ecstasy" is a musical project I began working on when I was 19. I literally "dreamed up" the idea of a musical fantasyland where it's always the free-wheeling early 70's one night in the lat 1980's, and the idea continued to haunt me over the years. By 2008 I finally felt I had the resources, both in terms of finances and talent, available to try putting the project up as a full theatrical show. As often happens when you are on the right track, everything fell immediately into place!

I met Racquel Lehrman of TheatrePlanners who produced the show, pulling together all the many elements it takes to accomplish such a feat; she also introduced me to Kay Cole: Broadway legend, brilliant director, choreographer and now one of my most treasured friends. With an incredibly talented cast and crew, all of whom went above and beyond their various assignments for love of the experience, the show opened in Hollywood at the ArtWorks theater June 6th, 2009 and ran for 6 amazing weeks.

The show was greeted with a lot of enthusiasm and love, with sold-out shows and returning "fans." Every night it ran was a party, and the good feelings generated by those who were part of the show and those who came to enjoy it was magical. I will never forget the experience, which was so good I immediately began working on another musical theater piece, the forthcoming "Sin," so we could do it all again!
