Drawings
I can't remember a time when I wasn't drawing. I'm often asked "Where does it all come from?" Good question. My biggest influences are 1950's Mad magazines, Charlie Brown, Disney animation and BrianFroud. I love pitting beauty against grotesquery and have always been fascinated by small creatures, bimbos, himbos, fairies, hideous monsters and deformed, well-meaning mutants. I seldom set out to draw anything specific; I let the beings come out as they will, compelling me to depict them doing whatever they do.
Drawing is, for me, both joy and pain. My own work often makes me laugh, is a great outlet for my obsessions and hopefully entertainment for others. With occasional exceptions my best work is rough and direct from my subconscious with the unfinished quality being part of the charm. I hope you find this collection amusing, intriguing, entertaining, challenging and even a little creepy. It sums up the world in my head fairly well!
